So I've had my iPhone for about 3 months and I've started having problems with it in the past week or two. These include:

- Randomly rebooting itself
- Display a "No SIM card installed" message
- Losing service entirely. Dropping from 5 bars to no service in the same area where another iPhone remains at 5 bars.

I upgraded to the latest firmware yesterday, hoping that would fix the issue. I also reseated the SIM card. Still having problems. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I was going to suggest upgrading to the latest firmware, but since you've already dont that I would take it to the Apple store and have them look at it.

Yeah, I'm with Acole1. Apple's customer support in-store is amazing. I would go to an Apple store.

If you want to try things yourself, I'd take a look at the SIM card. Take it out, and gently clean the contacts. I found the SIM slot is a bit loose on mine and I use two yellow sticky papers cut to fit, to make a more snug connection. But I often swap SIM's - when I'm travelling in Europe, I'll swap SIMs multiple times per day - so maybe I just have worn the contact springs out.

+1 for Apple support. Just take it to an Apple store and they'll hook you up.

They even replaced my phone due to a cracked screen - which they aren't supposed to do.

It's gotten worse. Now it just always has the "No SIM card installed" message, regardless of how many times I reboot it. Guess I'll have to drive an hour and a half tomorrow to get a new one.
