Iphone or Google phone?

I'm debating about getting a new phone, but I can't decide if I should buy the iPhone now or wait for a Google phone to come out.

I've read articles lately bashing the new iPhone, mainly about dropped calls. Hopefully they'll be fixing this, but c'mon...this should never have happened in the first place.

I also read an article yesterday about how T-Mobile is going to release a new phone in October based on Google's Android software. I don't know too much about it, except that it will have a pull out full qwerty keyboard, which would make text messaging a whole hell of a lot better than the iPhone.

Any ideas?

The iPhone is made of pure epic fail, so obviously the gPhone is made of win. gPhone is win, and hPhone would be made of just fail, and the iPhone is of course epic fail. Were someone to make an fPhone (pronunced ffone), it would be made of epic win. An eeePhone (yes, I'm looking at you ASUS) would cause the internet to implode upon itself.

The iPhone as a cell phone is just average. AT&T doesn't have the greatest service, especially indoors. The iPhone as a gadget is extremely cool, especially if you hack it. You can run the new 2.0 software with hacks, which include AppStore apps, Installer.app apps, and Cydia apps. You can even disable the Apple Killswitch!

I like having everything in one device in my pocket. Mobile Internet & RSS, Email, nice touchscreen keyboard, lots of little widget programs for checking weather, movies, etc., music and movies, plus YouTube, etc. Lots of options as a fun geek toy!

The iPhone is the first Apple product I have ever owned, and I wholeheartedly recommend it. I do use it on the T-Mobile network though, so I don't experience any of the problems associated with AT&T. The most annoying thing about it is dealing with iTunes...

This.

But...

I'm getting an Andriod phone through tmob as soon as it's released, I have a couple of lines I can upgrade, so I'm gonna try to get 2 if they'll let me.

Sort of hate to get a first generation of anything, but, it should be a pretty safe bet, I'm pretty impressed with HTC's phones, and have a Dash as a backup. I've also had/have a Wing & an SDA.

I would wait to see what apple does, before thinking
about the iPhone. I love mine when it works, but that's
less than 50% of the time in 3G.

The fact that apple hasn't made a statement about the
issues, pissed me off to no end.

It's not like Google is being secretive about the "gPhone". You can download and install developer builds of Android - the "gPhone" OS on any number of handsets right now. The Nokia N810, the Nokia N95, the HTC Tytn II and others. It takes a bit of messing - but there's even installers now to help with this.

and details and screenshots on the latest SDK release two days ago:

There isn't really going to be a "gPhone". Different manufacturers will release their own handsets with the Android software on it. The first one, which is rumored to be going to T-Mobile in Q3 this year, is rumored to be the HTC "Dream".

The only thing the rumors seem to consistently say is missing is a GPS...

Oh, and Apple issued a statement that acknowledged the 3G issues. http://blog.wired.com/gadgets/...8/apple-iphone-up.html
