iPhone > iPad tethering via MacBook?

Is this possible? I have an unlimited data plan on my iPhone. My MacBook can tether from it. Can I share the connection using wifi or Bluetooth from the Mac to iPad? I do not want to jb.

if you jailbreak your iphone, you can buy mywi. I think it's $19.99. It will make your iphone a wifi hotspot, just like if you had a carrier like sprint or verizon!

I would do this if I didn't play games and download things, or if i traveled and had a laptop.

It's kinda silly thinking about how the Iphone is perfectly capable of all sorts of things, but apple and/or AT&T simply limit what it can do.

I see no valid reason not to jailbreak. If you jailbreak and BUY legit apps... I see no harm done.

The verizon iphone is going to have the ability to use as a wifi hotspot unlocked. You'll likely lose connection if you have an incoming call, but it will still serve the purpose of a hot spot.

I think this is also coming to ATT via a firmware update. but you still need to fork over 20.00 a month for tethering. I JB my phone and use TetherMe ($2.00) to tether my macbook.

If you have your macbook receiving 'net from your iPhone via BT/USB you can...

Edit:
Much easier...

Sys Prefs > Sharing > Internet Sharing... Share connection from X to X check airport box and you can create a network... works like a wifi hotspot.

Is it just me, or did everyone but ka0t1x and I read this post wrong?

He is already tethering his iPhone to his MacBook.

Then he is asking how to share a connection from the MacBook to his iPad.

As ka0t1x says, you can go into system prefs and turn on sharing.

READING IS HARD?

yeah I was wondering if I could share my iPhone's connection through my MacBook. 🙂

Ka0t1x, that looks spot on thanks!
