iPhone: How do I forward all calls to voicemail?

I tried setting call forwarding to my own number, but it wouldn't let me save that setting. I also tried the generic GSM method *61*1234567890# (with my own number) and it came back with Failure error messages.

Any ideas how I can forward all calls to my iphone directly to voicemail?

Or

*21*<number>#
Where <number> is the full number you want to forward to.

*#21# shows the forwarding settings

#21# cancels the forwarding

I'm not on AT&T so I don't know what the voicemail number for AT&T is. For this, try Google.

Edit: or, as my mother pointed out, go to setting -> phone -> forwarding and type in your voicemail number

Exactly! It happens automatically. Anytime you don't respond to a call in a certain amount of rings, it goes to voicemail.

I'd like to keep the phone on to use data. I just want voice calls to go straight to voicemail.

OK - leave the phone on for your data - but just don't answer any incom,ing calls. They will go to voicemail after as many ringy dingies as you choose.

Whoa, thanks! If I forward my calls to a deposit number, can I have it default to my mailbox? When I try calling, it says it needs my cell number to proceed.

Thanks. I tried those just now; said call cannot be completed as dialed. :-/

Dial *#67# then hit call. That will give you the call forwarding when the line is busy number, which is the voicemail number. Go to phone settings, turn call forwarding on, and put the number in the forwarding to field.
