iPhone has MAJOR interference with TV and Home Phone

Have you ever had your cell phone next to a TV and whenever the cell phone would ring, the TV speaker would make all kinds of crazy noises? Something with the cell phone signal interferes with the TV, causing it to go nuts.

I've always had this minor problem. But with the iPhone, it's a MAJOR problem. When I'm watching TV in my bedroom, even if the iPhone is ANYWHERE in the same room (it doesn't even have to be next to the TV), there is some MAJOR interference and noise coming from the TV speaker.

Worst yet, when I have it on my desk in my home office, I cannot even hear people on my office phone, because the iPhone sitting on my desk causes such a major interference with the speaker on my office phone.

I have no idea what to do, beside place the iPhone all the way across the room so that it doesn't interfere with my TV and/or office phone.

Any ideas, suggestions, feedback?

I definitely do not have this problem - either when the iPhone rings, or just sitting around in standby. I haven't heard anything over my TV speakers at all - even when the iPhone is sitting about 2 feet above the TV (as it was last night).

Something in your audio/television system is acting like an antenna and it's picking up EMF from the iPhone. It's just a matter of figuring out what is picking up the iPhone signals and changing it so that it's not as sensitive.

When you say "the TV speaker", is this a built-in TV speaker, or is this driven by an external amplifier? If it's an external amplifier speaker, how long is the wire run from the amplifers to the speakers? If it's a built-in speaker - as in the speaker is part of the TV - does your TV have a two-prong plug, or a three-prong plug? Does this happen when you are watching TV, or movies, or both? Do you have subscription cable TV or over-the-air (ie. your own antenna)?

i only get this from my cheap clock radio on my night stand. My guess is this is because the higher quality tv/speakers are all shielded from interference whereas the cheaper stuff left this out to save costs.

It's not the iPhone like JC said, it's because your electronics aren't shielded properly.

I have no issues whatsoever with my iPhone doing that and it's docked right next to my computer speakers ( Klipsch ) and it's about 8 feet from my TV...

It is also specific to GSM carriers. Sprint and Verizon phones don't have this problem.
