iPhone & Exchange support via Activesync

Trying to get some info from Apple but they're very vague regarding technical details. Since it uses Activesync, I'm imagining that there's no middleware push server involved but there's no info on this. Also does it support public folders? What are the common limitations?

2.0 is a firmware update, no iPhones have full exchange support until 2.0, when they all do
