iPhone emails reappear after deleted

This is happening to both my wife and I:

We delete emails from our inbox using the iPhone4, wait a few minutes, they all reappear.

We are using Microsoft Exchange 2007 as our email client. They do not reappear in my outlook inbox, or my outlook web access inbox. They only reappear on my iphone.

Does anyone have a clue why our iPhone's are doing this?

P.S. Today is Thursday, as I type this, I received deleted emails from Tuesday.
