I have this same problem with iOS all the time.

I have all of my notifications for gmail on and I have all of my notifications for mail on but half of the time it doesn't alert me. This is a no go especially since I am missing client emails that are usually time sensitive. Any idea of what to do?

Get an Android phone? haha... sorry, I can't stop myself sometimes.

I know what you mean though. Apple has tried, but their notifications are still just horrible. Not sure what the fix is.

Do you have it set to show on the lockscreen? Mine seem to be showing up for every email I get but I haven't been paying close attention to it. Also, are you using the stock mail app or the gmail one?

Happens on both. On my 5s the Gmail app was relatively fast. With this one its missing emails. Also on the 5s my Exchange emails were instant. Faster than my Outlook. Now on my 6 it's been lagging behind. I also have 2 IMAP emails and those fall through the cracks all the time.
