UGH. Yes, this is a great bonus for being a Comcast subscriber. I never seem to go 100 feet in the Greater Philadelphia area without triggering one of the hotspots. But truthfully, it feels just like that-- like I'm triggering a 2.4GHz landmine.
First, this usually happens while I'm on the phone, in motion. Maybe I'm walking, or in the passenger's seat. I'm merrily going about my 3G business, when I get the prompt asking if I want to join. It disrupts whatever I'm doing.
Second, if I do join, I have to enter my credentials every time. Has this been your experience too? I was under the impression that the phone would store an access token of some sort.
Now, the obvious solution is to turn WiFi off. I don't want to do that. I would just like a more seamless integration of the two networks.
On the other hand, what a country we live in, where I have this sort of thing to complain about.
