iPhone Application Problems

Here is my problem,

I have had my iPhone 3G since 11/08, and for the most part it has been very reliable. Recently, however, every 4-5 weeks the applications stop working. The texting and phone calling functions work just fine, but all downloaded apps will fail to load. You select them, the splash screen appears for 1-2 seconds, and then the program "crashes" and the phone goes back to the main view. This applies to all my apps such as Facebook, Ninjas, etc.

The last time I had this issue, I rebooted the phone a couple times, but that didn't help. I had to do a complete restore to fix the issue (not my favorite option by far).

Has anyone else experienced this issue, or does anyone else know what I can do to remedy/fix the issue so it doesn't happen again?

What happens when you reinstall the applications? It's happening for all your applications?

Hmm. I just updated the Facebook app and now they are all working.

I wonder if some application launching file is getting affected?

I am trying to remember how it works, when you do a restore does the Phone get wiped and then is restored from the back up file that iTunes creates?

If so, you may want to wipe the phone again but delete the back up. Then set up the phone again like it was brand new. Maybe whatever was causing the problem was backed up and then restored to the phone.
