Are purchases made in the App store permanently linked with your account? Like Steam? So that you can always access your App even if you've wiped your iPhone or replaced it? Or is it like iTunes, and you lose your paid for Apps when your iphone gets wiped/replaced?

I'm asking because some of the apps i'm interested in are like $40 (ie Netter's medical texts).

BTW, iPhone battery sucks ass. So much more than i expected. I expected bad, but i didn't expect the phone to die at 5pm with just moderate use. My BB8800 would last 4-5 days easily with the same usage.

The app store is different from the itunes music store. You can purchase an app and if your phone gets wiped or lost you can just download again. I've done it many times.

YES! That is so true. The first day I used my phone it was dead by 2 pm.. that was crazy!!!

Today it's doing MUCH better, and I hear that it gets a lot better after it has a week's worth of charges.

Yup, you can re-download apps, which is great. Wish they'd let you do that with music!

Yeah, it's a running joke at the office. 'Is your iPhone still running?'... and i literally need to check my battery life before i go onsite.

You know, it wouldn't be so bad if they didn't have to use a proprietary connector. Why not just use a mini-usb connection like so many other devices? I have mp3 players, external HDDs, BBs, my GPS, my camera, so many things that use the mini-USB that i always have a cable somewhere.

Anyways, i'm 80% happy with the iPhone. My biggest gripe right now is not being able to find that Netshare program that would allow me to tether it. That was my main reason for getting the iPhone instead of waiting for the Bold.

I love how good an ebook reader the iPhone is. I always knew this would be a perfect ebook reader, and the free reader from fictionwise has been awesome. I'm absolutely in love with it. You can get the reader, and then download .txt books online. Convert it to the format they use (free program as well). Upload it to fictionwise (you get your own personal storage there), and then download it to your iPhone. That sounds a lot more complicated than it is, but it's ridiculously easy.

Heck, i plan on making my own site and uploading all my ebooks so anybody can browse to it and download it straight to their iPhone.

Yea, today my iPhone has done really well. I've been texting, surfing, checking email, and i'm at about half charge still.. with only a few hours left to go. So as long as it lasts until I get home for dinner, I'll be happy.. I'm quite close.

As for the NetShare app.. Apple pulled it, so I'm not sure you'll ever find it. But the jailbreak community might make one available for the 2.0 firmware eventually.
