is it just me or does it seem like too much attention is being payed to the iphone by the technological community as well as the everyday community.

i compare this to paris hilton because it seems very much like how she go so much attention in the media and for what? getting drunk and arrested, like that's never happened to anyone before. not only did it get attention but it was often the top story for news shows around the US. in fact, recently micheal moore was bumped off larry king for paris hilton. now i'm not saying micheal moore is someone of great utter importance but he definitely does not deserve to get bumped for some drunken wh*re.

now i'm not saying the iphone is similar to that far of an extreme but i do think that there is a bit too much emphasis put on it. from a technological standpoint, its pretty cool that it has combined many mobile features such as phone, internet, music but it seems to me that all of this has been achomplished long ago. my friend has had some sprint trio phone for years now and i have seen that phone do everything that iphone advertises to do. granted that it may not do it as well but it is a couple of years old. i frankly just dont see what is so special about this phone and why people are lining up to get it, especially when it costs so damn much.

maybe i'm just missing something obvious. if i am, i'd gladly love to listen (or read rather)

LOL....I was thinking the same thing. Friday, in an email to a friend of mine, I called the iPhone the Paris Hilton of electronic gadgets.
