iPhone 8 Qi Charging

I am an Android person but my next phone at work will be an i Phone as we are being forced to go that route.
I like the Qi charging on my Galaxy as I can just lay the phone down on a puck and it charges.

Does the i Phone 8 work the same way or do I need a proprietary case or charger? Will the charger I use for the Galaxy work on the i Phone?

I use have used an android Qi charger on my iPhone x. Works just fine, except it's a lay the phone down on it style and you have to pick up the phone to see the screen. I have two apple compatible ones that are cradles so you can see the screen while it's charging...much better.

Yes, it will charge with a case. My wife has a giant toddler box on her iPhone 8 and it charges just fine on any Qi wireless charger.
