iPhone 6S+ VS Note 5

Chipset unveiled a month ago beats a chipset released back in April. Cool.

It's not even that - if you watch the video, launching the apps initially were basically neck and neck. No practical difference between the phones.

It was going back and relaunching them which highlighted the memory management issue on current Samsung devices where over 7 apps on the Note 5 result in the 8th app being reloaded vs the 6S+.

I'm not sure this video really shows anything material - the only time you'd notice this is if you do something artificial like this test where you're constantly reloading apps, especially large games, which are not in the last 7 apps you've used.

My conclusions were:
- Surprise the 6S Plus didn't have a substantial gap on initial loads considering Apple's tight software and hardware optimization vs. Android
- Samsung needs to improve memory handling - I still think this is overblown honestly. Even if say a future update or Android M helps get this number to say a dozen apps in memory, you'll still be able to probably invoke this difference between the platforms.

Phone performance is always a moving target, I thought it was an interesting snapshot of phone performance, there'll be another king of the hill soon enough.

I don't buy anything because of stuff like this, I buy it if it fits my needs.

so we are posting bias videos of Apple vs Android now.....this is a new low.

Why don't you post videos of some cool new apps you've found for your beloved Apple Watch? That might actually be worthy of a thread.

You know that kind of post isn't allowed, right?

I use my Apple Watch every day, it's just what I expected, and watch OS 2 was a nice upgrade.

Traditional watches are doomed, just like rotary phones, if you choose to think otherwise, that's fine 🙂

Linking to that point of the video was actually unintentional. And honestly, I don't see how the video could be considered biased.

Ugh - statements like this are the P&N of the mobile forum. It's purely subjective and inevitably brings out the opposing side for a completely pointless fight that no one can win.

Considering there's nothing that does that by default and instead you have to add the parameters into the URL... 🙂

I was watching the video embedded on a website, and clicked the link to watch it in the YouTube app, I honestly didn't realize it linked to the video already in progress, had I wanted to be biased, I would have linked to the 2nd round, where the Note 5 falls behind.

I currently have a handful of Android tablets, a Note 4 and a Nexus 6, I do use an iPhone as a daily driver because it just gets old jumping back and forth a lot. I do prefer iOS, but think Android is fine, and have used Android phones for years.

Never have understood the whole argument about OS's. Only current bitch I have is I hate that Samsung sealed its phones with the current generation.

I think the mech watch thing is silly to be honest, quartz watches nearly did in mech watches, smart watches are a natural progression.
