iPhone 6 Display Color Measures

Measures we're taken with a ColorMunki.

Anyway the dE is based off of a 2.2 gamma curve and D75 White Point... I'm too lazy to do full saturation/color checker measures. Besides Anandtech and DisplayMate will surely have much more detailed measures up in a week or so.

To summarize what your seeing; 7500K Color Temperature, 2.2 Gamma, Almost Full sRGB Gamut and 1600:1 Contrast Ratio (with a extremely bright 583 cd/m2 of light).

Is there a way to tell without ordering a pentalobe screwdriver and checking the part number on the display?

probably not. Forbes claim that it has Sharp and LG screens.Which is interesting, because LG makes IPS panels, and Sharp has their own tech. Which means the displays would look different.

For idiots (like me) - what does that mean? We need perspective/benchmark. Or in comparison to other phones?

It means the display is reasonably accurate, gets VERY bright while not looking washed out but… it is too blue (if your following the D6500K standard).

^Close enough? :awe:

AFAIK I don't think LG has any IPS panels with a 1600:1 contrast ratio, so it has to be Sharp.

Also iFixIt showed that the iPhone 6 Plus had no Samsung parts in it (which is quite interesting).
