iPhone 6 battery dying. Need cheap Android phone on Verizon

So the battery on my iPhone 6 is dying and Apple wants $80 to replace the battery. I've already spent $100 cause my glass broke a couple of months ago. Thinking I might just get a cheap phone until the next iPhone comes out.

Any recommendations? Phone with 4.5+ inch screen and 4G LTE would be nice.

A lot of those iphone battery issues have easy fixes. Try turning off push mail, location services, diagnostic / usage data, notifications, and similar background services that don't need to be on at all times. Doing this eliminated those random battery drops for no reason.

You're going to end up with a pretty bad phone (in comparison) for $80 or less. The Moto E is alright for the money if you really want to do this.

Also, you can probably find a 3rd party place that will do the swap for less than $80.

I'm not sure he's looking an equal, just something to get him by. Speaking as a moto e owner, it will get him by just fine. I've had a note 4, have a nexus 6 and I'm thoroughly impressed for the price/performance of this phone.

Wouldn't the $80 battery replacement be the better bet, especially since it would help you with resale value of the iPhone 6 down the line?

Just replace the battery, find someone on Craigslist if you can't do it yourself.

Not a slam, I won't crack open an iOS device, it would never work again 🙂

it says you're in flushing. Can't you hit up any of the million cell phone stores there that can swap out a battery for you?

I'd personally just pay the extra and take it to apple though. Prefer Oem vs some weird brand

1.) Fix 6s, do it yourself at home. That way there is no labor. If you don't know how, figure it out by watching videos / tutorials. If you break it, its already broken so no harm, no foul.

2.) I hate Motorola now that they are Lenovo, but the moto e can be obtained online brand new for $25 free shipping or store pickup. It runs 5.1.1 but have heard it can be rooted to install cm13. I have not done this myself. With my expeirance owning it, it is a GREAT phone despite my hatred towards lenvo / Motorola.

while i have not replaced a battery in a 6, i have replaced one in a 5 and it cost me about $10 from amazon for the battery + tool, then about 10 minutes of my time.

Thanks for the help guys. I don't think I want to spend the time to fix it on my own right now.

Moto E 2nd gen for 40$ aprox in amazon. It has lte and 4.5 screen

Thanks, I'll take a look at that. Looks like a good temp phone.

That's what I thought too. I've been running the phone on "battery save" mode with all those disabled, and my phone dies within an hour or two.

Agreed. An Android phone to match an iPhone 6 is at least $150-ish even used.

I don't mind going the used route. Which phone would you recommend used for $150?

For a good phone, an LG G4 or G3 with marshmallow. Rumor has it G4 will get android N the G3 may not.

The G4 has everything great with exception to a fingerprint reader. If you cannot get a deal, the G3 is also fantastic, but will get hot during intense gaming.
