Inherited a family members iPhone 5, it's in great shape. Only thing going wrong with it is the power button on top. Is the button under warranty? Any way to fix it? ...can't even do a screen shot with it anymore..
 
try AssistiveTouch.

Go to Settings->General->Accessibility->AssistiveTouch. Lets you lock the phone and hold the lock and turn off the phone. You turn it on by plugging it into the charger.
