Iphone 5 or BB Z10?

I'm trying to decide which one to get. Both have their pros and cons as far as the hardware goes but I'm having a difficult time to take the plunge into a yet unknown ecosystem. The reason why I'm considering the Z10 is that historically BB devices have very good connectivity with in car systems like the iDrive, Sync, etc. where emails, calendars, and other conveniences work very well. The iphone is almost there but not yet in that regard. However, there are some dealbreakers such as BB10's current 30 day email limitation if you use EAS and a clear lack of apps. I know sideloading works but that is not guaranteed. I don't have that many android apps purchased so buying them again on iOS or BB isn't a big deal however it all "just needs to work".

Anyone have experience with one or both?

I'd go with an iphone 5. No questions asked. BB has a lot of improving to do software wise to catch up to ios/android.

I'd honestly go Z10, but that's just me so for you I'd recommend the iPhone out of those two options.

I went to the t mobile store a few days ago and played with the z10. I was going to buy it until I saw it could only store 30 days worth of email. Remote search still has a 30 days limit for eas. I could very much deal with the other growing pains if not for that. supposedly 10.1 is supposed to fix a lot of issues but since I'm also a former play book owner I have already been burned once

New BB touch OS has just stepped into the market, they have lot to improve. I will suggest you to grab iPhone. And if you wish to try something different then Lumia 920 is an awesome phone.

Iphone definitely based on what you have stipulated.

Plenty of good options in the Android ecosystem atm too though if you don't have an aversion to Android

HTC One especially so sexy

I have a note 2 but unfortunately very few android phones come complete with a working bluetooth stack so I won't get emails pushed to my car. I too am leaning towards the iphone considering the uncertain future of bb10 and the slow updates from rim. Their only plus is their in car connectivity is the best

What apps do you need? The Z10 may have them already.

And the Z10 supports remote search via EAS, so there's a *current* limit of 30 days of messages stored on the device, but the rest are searchable.

I have an iPhone 4 (retired), a BB 9900 (retired), and now a Z10, and I like the Z10 best out of all of them.

Just used the Z10 for a week on vacation. Loving it. I wouldn't consider BB10 OS "first generation"....it is very well defined and I have not had any bugs, hangups, or anything else that would make me hesitate recommending it to anyone.

Remote Search via EAS is still limited to 30 days. I know I tried searching for certain emails that dated back to last year and none showed.

As far as apps go I rely heavily on Chase Mobile and TripLog GPS Mileage. I read that Chase seems to work as a sideload but I have not found anything about the TripLog. I also like to use Tapatalk but that's really the extent of my app usage. The reports of random rebooting are of concern so now I'm beginning to wonder about the z10.

Unless you have some overly compelling reason to go with the Z10, get an iPhone. Barring a zombie apocalypse, Apple will still be here in two years and providing software updates. The same cannot be said about RIM/Blackberry. The only reason I can think of to not get an iPhone 5 is that there's going to be a new model announced tomorrow and likely available within a few weeks.
