Wow, look at current iPhone owners celebrating because their phone won't be old news until Fall.

Um. . . congratulations?

yes, that was exactly what i was doing...

or perhaps it was me referring to how people said to wait till july for the ip5 and not get a new phone in february. had i done that, now i would be waiting until the fall to get a new phone, possibly. no one knows for sure but now the speculation is now the fall.

the whole gist of the mobile market on this forum is funny because everyone is always "waiting a few months" for the latest technologically advanced phone phone, then a new one is announced and they are now waiting a few more months for one even better than the one they had waited on. if everyone waited no one would have smart phones.

I'm on Verizon and live in a 4G city, when I saw that the iPhone 5 won't be 4G, I stopped wanting anything to do with it.

Mega fail

4G lol...

My iPhone4 is barely fast enough to take advantage of 3G speeds. Dual core isn't going to make web rendering much faster.

I'm guessing you haven't seen/used the iPad 2, EVERYTHING is faster, everything. Dual core definitely helps in every way.

Good to explore, I looked at this:

I'm guessing in real world Safari usage on 3G or 4G, the iPhone 5 will be faster, but not much.

The 3G or 4G isn't going to make a huge difference, nor is the dual core processor because it is still a single threaded application. Now, if iPhone 5 wants to sport us some 2Ghz goodness, then I will be sad that it won't have 4G.

I am a VZW iPhone 4 user that is going to get iPhone 5 on launch day, and I live in a 4G city, but I have realistic expectations.

I'm not sure how it doesn't make sense. When looking at Android as a whole, it doesn't make sense to wait, because there are multiple OEMs all releasing phones at various times throughout the year. When it comes to Apple phones, they're usually expected on a yearly interval, so if you're close to the release point... why buy something that will be out-of-date within a few months?

It's similar to a situation for me a few months back... why would I have built a PC using a Clarksdale i-series processor when Sandy Bridge was a month out? Sandy Bridge had obvious benefits for me, so it made sense to give it a month or two and upgrade.

The unfortunate part is those waiting for the expected 12-month refresh now have to wait a little bit longer.

LOL ,you don't think going from 3G => IP4 is a big leap ??
Going from 3GS => IP4 is a big leap.
Going from 3G => IP4 is leaping mount everest.
Speed, yes, but overall benefits... it's not huge.

Better camera, video, display, space (dont care), etc.
