I have a question about the iPhone 4S battery I just got the phone today and I noticed that the battery goes down really fast so what I was asking for is if anybody knows some tips or whatever to increase battery life besides brightness I know that but if there's any background Running things or something like that to turn off or lower or whatever id like to know.

Aww that sucks well now I know what the battery life is like but if I turn the brightness down sometimes it should help.

It's not normal. I have a 4S and it lasts me two days of moderate use now. I had the same problem, the thing would run out of juice in less than a day of low-to-no use!

What can help you solve the problem:

1. Upgrade to latest iOS version and RESÈT settings to default (don't worry, your application settings and data will not be touched) - Settings, General, Reset, Reset All Settings
2. When the reset completes, do NOT enable Location services when going through the new setup
3. Only once the setup finishes, go to Location services and enable only the things you need - I disabled all System Services for example as I don't need any of those.

After the above I went from running out of battery in 16 hours to easily going for 2 days with plenty of fun with the phone.

I think it is a crap shoot honestly. Some 4S get significantly better battery life than others. My first 4S had great battery life. I could go a couple of days between charges. Unfortunately the battery was about the only thing that worked correctly so I had to get a replacement. Same firmware revision and exact same settings and I am lucky to get a full day of light to moderate use from a full charge. I have found that regular reboots seem to help with battery life (my 4S reminds me of the old Windows 3.1 days). I ended up buying a case with a battery in it to charge my phone when the level gets low and everything is fine now.

I have practically all settings enables on my 4s and I can go nearly 3 days on a charge with light use. Only a few calls. This is a work phone. Sometimes I'll leave my desk phone forwarded and only use my 4s for calls all day. If I start with a full charge I'm rarely below 60-70% and am on the phone for a couple hours easily.

I have location enabled, bluetooth, wifi, all notifications for all of my apps, Exchange email account synced. I've left brightness on 50%.

I've only drained the battery in one day a couple of times. That day I was on the phone for probably 4-5 hours and most of that time I left the phone on speakerphone with the screen turned on. Started the day with 90% and went home 11 hours later with 25%. Not too shabby. My Galaxy Nexus would have been dead.

Run your battery all the way down and let your phone die. Plug it in and let it charge to 100% before taking it off. Then see how it does over the next couple days. Modify some settings you don't use.

depends on screen brightness and what you have running in the background and how often you use it.

using it on wifi will also use less battery than 3g
