iPhone 4 pre-orderers: Case suggestions?

What's everyone getting to protect their phone?

I'd like to keep the phone as thin as possible, and am considering this. Any other suggestions for a thin case?

No case, of course.

Its small and thin enough to just slide in my front pocket, screen towards my leg. I *might* get a clear screen protector, but probably wont. A case just messes up the asthetics and thin form factor these phones have. Keep them nekkid!

Maybe I'll try to go nekkid at first. I have a feeling the fingerprints are going to annoy the hell out of me, though.

I've dropped my phone enough in my Capsule Rebel to believe if it wasn't on there I'd have a very broken phone, so there's no way I'll go without a case.

If they get something like that out for the iphone 4 soon enough, that's probably what I'll go with. It's not thin by any means, but it has saved my 3G from some incredibly bad drunken activities. I dropped the thing a full story down a stairwell onto tile and saw no adverse affects other than a deep scuff on the case. Can't imagine many other cases holding up to that kind of fall... that Griffin case would have shattered at that height.

Maybe I'm just more clumsy (which I don't doubt) but I would recommend that case, or probably any of their cases if they live up to the same quality, without hesitation.

I have never dropped my phone. I have a case on it only to protect the plastic back from my car keys.

No screen protector, the glass has never been scratched.

Since I use a Seidio holster I will pretty much have to use whatever they come up with. I really hope they make a holster that doesn't require a case this time.

I love my iskin revo, I have gotten one for the first gen, 3G, and the 3GS ... there's no other case I really like.

Hopefully they make a nice one for the iphone4.

DO NOT BUY THE GRIFFIN REVEAL

dust gets back behind it and scratches your phone! its a common problem. plus there are watermarks.

that being said, which companies offer cases as of now? i had no idea any did. i wish speck made one, their cases are great.

I ordered a Zagg Invisible Shield. Shipped yesterday. I kinda like the idea of using it with the bumper case, except I didn't know that the bumper would be outrageously overpriced and seemingly unavailable.

The Invisible Shield adds no perceivable bulk and will protect the phone against scratches. It does not really protect against drops - but I am one clumsy guy. I've dropped my old iPhone 3G many times, but it was always in a clear plastic case. The case was practically destroyed after 2 years of abuse, but the phone was like-new when I took it out and cleaned it. I'd like to do the same, this time around.

Does anyone know of a bumper-like case that is cheaper? I just hope it fits correctly.

I'll never understand why people pay so much for the Invisible Shield when you can get the exact same product at Best Skins Ever for a fraction of the cost.

Damn. I wish I had known about them. I had no clue.

EDIT: Well it turns out that Best Skins Ever does not offer a skin for the iPhone 4 at this time, but Zagg does. So while it's definitely more expensive than BSE, Zagg seems to be the only brand offering this kind of protective film for the iPhone 4 at this time.

I have this (the yellow and black) on my iPhone 3GS and love it. I have the anti-glare screen from the Applestore and have zero watermarks, it is crystal clear.

I have had zero issues out of my iPhone since updating my BIOS (posted in another thread asking questions) that I may upgrade my phone. I may get the wife a new phone also, she can't upgrade until early July, but I would prefer an Otterbox case for her also.

you need a bumper to prevent angle drop damage.

i thought the iphone used circular polarization so the old school zagg wouldn't look right on the new screens?? rainbow effect?

They aren't the same. I have owned both, and can say that the Invisible shield is slightly thicker, is 'grippier' on the outside (meaning that I can rest my devices on angled surfaces and they don't slide), and also removes cleaner. Best Skins Ever leaves behind an awful residue that takes a lot of work to remove.

Pay the extra, get the real deal.

Do you work for them or something? I've used BSE on everything I've ever had a screen on (well over 10 devices) and every one has outlasted the life of the device. I sold 2 of those devices and before selling them I took off the screen protector which came off perfectly... no residue or anything. Maybe you didn't put them on right? I've only owned 1 invisible shield, but I still can't find any major difference in function or performance, only price.

Don't pay any extra, the "real deal" is more overpriced than Monster cables
