iPhone 4 jailbreak is live

Just released... server crashed 🙁

Guess it's expected though given how many people are hammering the site.

BTW: You need to visit this URL via your device, not your PC

So far so good. Downloaded quick, jailbroke fine and added Cydia to the homescreen automatically. Now to grab SBSettings

Heads up:
Most people are just jumping into jailbreaking without looking through the other threads...

IF YOU JAILBREAK YOUR IPHONE 4, YOU WILL LOSE THE ABILITY TO USE FACETIME AND MMS UNTIL THERE IS A FIX.

Someone posted this on macrumors, but didn't post a source yet.

so you need ot updated to 4.0 via itunes then jailbrake through that link?\

No official news on the dev team blog, only on twitter.

That used to be the case, but I'm not sure how it works right now. It's a brand new jailbreak so there's still some stuff to finish.

i just updated to 4.0... i am still able to use phone, but can't get hte JB site to work

server with specified hostname could not be found

ahh nevermind kept retrying till i got it 🙂 Sitting tight

No Facetime. No go. I use this from work. My 19 month old daughter has memorized what buttons to push on my wife's phone to call me via Facetime while I'm at work She really likes the app cause she can see and talk to me. I'm loathe to lose that ability.

There's an unofficial fix if you're missing facetime and MMS that worked for me:

-add http://iphonedelivery.advinux.fr/cydia as a source
-download the only app from that source
-respring/reboot
-facetime and MMS should now be back

I've also read that if you restore to a pre-jailbreak backup, it will also give back MMS and facetime without undoing the jailbreak as it's not a full firmware restore.

so what are the best choices for app switching? Using native or pro switcher?

Anyone try on an itouch?

I'm not sure what you mean... are you talking multitasking? I'm content enough with how Apple has theirs set up so I won't bother with any other apps for that.

Crap, in my haste i forgot to uninstall categories now it seems all my apps that where in folders are not there. But itunes thinks they are.

Ok fixed that, installed categories, clicked around and all my apps are back

Ahhh damn it, didnt work. Why did i forget to uninstall this crap

Unhiding the icons in categories fixed it. What a pain in the ass, the app restarts everytime you unhide an app.

Updated on Redmond Pie:

http://www.redmondpie.com/fix-facet...e-4-after-jailbreaking-using-jailbreakme-2.0/

Previous jailbreakers need to do this procedure. If you jailbreak from now on, JailbreakMe has been updated with the Facetime/MMS fix.

Has anyone found a terminal client that works in iOS 4. I installed Mobile Terminal on my iPhone 4 and it just crashes whenever you open it.

I'm having the same problem with Intelliscreen - guess we'll have to wait for more 4.0 updates to be pushed out :\
