iPhone 4 issue with battery?

Hey guys, I have to use an iPhone 4 for a bit but it's acting very weird.

Obviously it's not under warranty.

Here's what I notice. At full battery charge, it runs just fine. But somewhere at like 50 to 60% it gets unstable.

It will randomly reboot using anything (camera, email, google voice, safari etc...)

Then it either recovers and crashes eventually again, or does a random reboot loop.

Or it will claim it's battery is dead, it will show the low battery mark and won't turn on but eventually recovers to either above two scenarios.

I am thinking I need to calibrate the battery, especially since when it's plugged in, it works great.

Anyone have any ideas? I have tried the recovery mode and it didn't help.

Time to replace the battery. Apple charges $100 for it I think. Did wife's 5 a year ago, I wouldn't do it for a 4, just replace it. IOS 8 makes the 4/4s unusable imo.
