iPhone 4 doesn't regain reception after subway

Hey guys,
I was just wondering if anyone else had the same issue. A few weeks after upgrading to iOS 5, my phone would not regain reception after coming out of a non-reception area, like a subway tunnel.
Every time this happens, I have to restart the phone and then wait about 5 minutes after restarting to make a call or text.

This is really annoying as I use the subway every day to get to and from work.

Anyone know of a possible solution for this issue?
 
try to restore as new

iOS 5 is good but the upgrades can be flaky sometimes. i usually get a connection within a minute after coming out of the subway.
 
I have the same problem rarely. Just switching the phone into airplane mode and back will do it. The iPhone starts searching for network at this point and should find it as long as you have reception.
 
As above. There was a short period of time where this was occuring for me as well, but it's been fine for a good month or so now.

Oh...and to clarify, this is a 4S.
