iPhone 4, cant update

I have a iphone 4 and cannot update it because I do not have enough space. Is this phone a lost cause? or is there another way of getting it?!
 
Are you trying to do an over-the-air update? If so, plug it into iTunes and update it from there. Instead of loading the update file onto the phone like they do for OTA updates, if you use iTunes, the file gets loaded onto the computer. You still may need to free up space though, depending on how much space you have left and how big the update is. Delete a bit of stuff as necessary.
