iphone 4 and 4S screen swap question

I have aquired an iphone 4S with a cracked front screen. I have an immaculate iphone 4. Will the 4 screen work on an iphone 4S?

If it were me, I'd probably just order one of the el cheapo screen replacements off eBay.

You actually could probably crazy glue it and it would likely be ok. The screen actually holds in place pretty well without the screws so a big of crazy glue would probably work - crazy as it sounds. But I thought that the connectors on the back of the display were slightly different too... like the little micro connector for the front camera... I thought that that connector was slightly different...? But I'm not sure. I have repaired one 4S and one 4 and I wasn't paying that much attention since they were months apart.

You could try and see how it goes. But if you aren't totally hard up for cash, my advice matches bearxor's... I'd just get a cheap screen on Ebay.

You do realize that its 2 different generation phone right ??
Just because they look the same, why would you expect the parts to be the same.
You also realize that iPhone parts are the cheapest of any phone out there ??

I have had terrible luck with those $30 replacement.
The first one didn't work at all.
The 2nd one was almost the same but the touch sensor was whacked out.
The 3rd one, I've been too lazy to replace it.

I put one in my phone. It feels and looks exactly like the real thing. The only thing that I have noticed on mine compared to the real deal is it has a couple of little scratches (that you only see when they catch the light) that my friend's iPhone 4 doesn't have.

Mine goes in the same pocket as my keys though. Now that I know that it isn't too terribly difficult or expensive to replace the display, I have kind of stopped caring about how I treat my phone. 😉
