What stinks is that I get NO SERVICE in my dorm, but if i just step outside (literally), I get 5 bars of 3G service. I swear, I'm living in a Faraday cage or something.

Anyone know any home remedies? Honestly, I'd even be happy with decent 2G/EDGE service since we have Wifi here that I can use for data.

Nope, I have the same thing at my place. 0 Bars inside, 3-5 bars as soon as I walk out the door. Yay for us!

Weird, I had a ton of issues with my first phone, but this new one has been fairly stable for me. I don't recall dropping a call yet since i swapped about two weeks ago.

I'm still debating waiting for the 32gb model or just biting now. So many issues with the current version, yet others have no problems at all. My own 1st-gen phones are perfect...don't want to jinx myself :D

UPDATE: I just had a call fail, and the phone locked up on me (i.e. I couldn't do anything other than shut it off). So I threw it against the wall.

Now I need a new phone, lol. I will not be getting another iphone.

Ouch man, for real?

I haven't upgraded mine to 2.0.2 yet, mainly because of all the issues I keep hearing about it.

Went from 3 bars in my room to no service on 3g after the update. Not happy about that at all.

Are you going to keep it? The Bold is due any time now.

So far, my experience with the iphone is GREAT for anything other than phone calls.

The main purpose of my cell phone is phone calls. I hate to say it, but I'm really starting to hate my iPhone. I really hate that I can't use 3G, yet I pay for the ludicrous $30/month data plan.

Well, if it comes out within 30 days, I could exchange the Pearl for it.

So far, the biggest concern with the Pearl is how to get my contacts onto it. Other than that, the interface is functional, if "ugly" and "unrefined" as compared to how the iPhone does things. However, it doesn't matter how polished a product like the iPhone is if it just doesn't work right.

I agree with you 100% I going to wait until my 30 days are up, and if the iPhone still has issues, back it goes. I want a 3G phone, because when it works, it's great.

Doesn't look like it's going to be the Bold though. It seems to have 3G issues too.
