Hi Folks, How do I to get large jpeg photos on iPhone 11? All my photos are around 2-4MB yet both lenses are 12MB, is there a setting that perhaps I have over looked? I also have my photos set to jpeg.
Thanks, Jake

Your lenses aren't "12MB" they're 12 megapixel or 12MP.

Having said that, I'm puzzled that you're not getting larger file sizes, I'd expect at least double the file size you're currently getting. How are you finding those file sizes? If it's through iCloud then there's also a setting IIRC that sends "optimised" images to the cloud rather than the originals.

I'm also puzzled because while I'm not heavily into Apple tech, it surprises me that they'd even have a megapixel setting that could be turned down.

The iPhone 11 shoots in the HEIF format as the default. Apple started using HEIF with iOS 11. You can change it to jpeg, but HEIF is better. HEIF uses a 16-bit deep color, jpeg is only 8-bit. HEIF files are about half the size of jpeg files. HEIF files end in .HEIC . They can be a pain
because not all computers can view them without a HEIC viewer. Windows 10 can view them if you are on at least Build 17123 , and with Macs, I think you need to be on at least High Sierra.
