I have been having my internet connection slow down alot lately under heavy p2p traffic (I have pretty much traced this problem to the router) and I was wondering if anyone here has experience with IPcop, I've heard that there's a good chance that it will solve my problems.

Is this true??? Voice your opinion with the reply button!!! The world wants to hear you!!!

I've looked at all the firewall distros, and IPCop is my favorite. Right now we have a SonicWALL at work, but I'm hoping to replace it with IPCop, and get rid of those pesky licensing fees. I'm wanting to get together one of our spare computers though, and try it out at home first - should be a good test before unleashing it at work. I just haven't gotten around to doing that.

IPCOP is awesome i highly recommend it. i have one setup for a school with about 150+ workstations. although we block P2P it does handle alot of traffic very well. we have it installed on a P4 1.7GHZ 256MB Ram and a 40 GB hard drive. They have 3 computer labs where students take online classes all day so they usually hit it pretty hard. no problems yet.
