<< Is this really that great of a deal? Especially since the nere models are coming out? >>

I'm seriously considering it.

The new model will be priced at least $599 or $699. And this one can have a free OS upgrade.

<< $23 sale tax. :( >>

Do you have any idea how much tax we pay over here in Canada? :)

$23 is a bargain. A $170 purchase in BC would have $23 worth of sales taxes added on top. :(

Not sure how I pulled this off and I won't guarantee it will work for you but you might try it. Called a friend who works @ BB and told him about this deal. He said his manager has encouraged them to be more "aggressive" and he would match the deal. Since there was no tax involved from Gateway he sold it to me for $400 plus tax so the deal came out to be $420 less $50 rebate so deal is $370. I know BB doesn't typically do this but it can't hurt to ask.

The new models are almost definately going to be between 400 - 600 people have seen them in reseller databases and now a cnet report has backed it up. The more expensive new ipaq model the 3800 series has a 16 bit screen(64000 colors) compared to the current 12 bit screen(4096 colors) it also ships with a sd slot build in and this report says nothing about the better battery but the listings in the resellers databases show a new 1400 mah battery. The battery on these 3635's is pretty poor and that should help. its also supposed to ship with a usb - serial cradle, voice command and control, and slide on protective cover pack.

Heres the article
