iPad printing rumors are laid to rest

Finally a printing solution for the iPad. Suck it haters 😀

Awesome possum. ^_^

I didn't even know the iPad can't print. I figured it did it through wifi. That's dumb.

I heard HP is going to release a printing app for the iPad, but it's really limited. Only prints photos, and only to certain HP printers. The iPad needs a dedicated printing API. A lot of people don't print, but many do. Especially those older people who are supposedly all going to be getting iPads because they can't figure out how to use normal computers.

Is this really supposed to be a netbook replacement if it can't do something as basic as printing?. Even my 5 years old WM5 phone can print. Ah well, when you need a computer to use this, that pretty much answers the question.

can't print now, but I'm sure OS4.1 or something will add it, it has BT & WiFi, it's a matter of time before Apple releases an update for this. I'm guessing it will be some sort of iPad -> PC -> Printer thing as no way in hell Apple could get drivers for every, or even most printers out there. And if not Apple a 3rd party Jailbroken App will fit the bill here.

I feel sorry for everyone that has to have a printer at home...I stopped using one in college and since then just use them at work or the library if I absolutely need one, which is honestly like 1-2 times a year.

After reading a few of your posts I get the feeling you tailor your needs to your gadgets abilities rather than picking your gadgets to fit your needs.

Yeah... how often do you really print? Once or twice a month? I think that can wait until I sit down at my desktop.

I don't even print that much, sometime last year I needed a USB cord and was too lazy to buy one, so I took the one off my printer. It's been a huge paper weight since then.

???

lol, whatever. I do not even own an iPad....and I said I do not need a printer, not that I don't own one because my non-existent iPad can't print to it. Nice try though.

Aw its all in the app... Yes there will be apps, plenty of apps for printing. But the question... do u want to pay now or soon for an app? or wait for the OS update with included printing support for everyone. I suppose for now it will be the app, in that HP and Canon want people to buy their printers.

This is so cool. For their next device Apple can build a bare UI with just iTunes on it, then we can pay to download all the OS features we want for more cash. Don't want to Print? Don't buy the printing app. Don't want to use a clock? Don't buy the Clock app. Want to watch Pron? Oh..crap.

"Submit to God and be at peace with him; in this way prosperity will come to you. Accept instruction from his mouth and lay up his words in your mouth." ~Job 22: 21-22

🙄

Book of Job says black shirts and turtle necks for all season dress gear. Choice of forbidden fruit: the Apple.

The beautiful thing about the apps store is by it's sheer size we will undoubtedly see many free apps for printing. The only app so far I absolutely had to buy was the LogMeIn one, and that's just because it's the VNC client I use with my clients. While I have bought other apps for my iPhone, I could have gotten by with a free alternative for every single one of them.

Fixed.

actually this is a really really good idea, except you don't have to pay for shit with 10's of thousands of free apps. All the little things would add up to wasted CPU cycles and space, even if it's minor, 100 functions I don't need being removed would make a difference. Apple should run with you thinking here. A totally Al La Carte OS would be absolutely kick ass.

No, it would be epic shit.
