iPad-iPhone apps? 3G release date?

So if you have an iPhone, I suspect one has to re-purchase all their iPhone apps for the their iPad? That seems a little odd to me. If you have one store account, Id think all your
i-devices should share your purchased i-apps.
And when should we expect to see the iPad, more so the 3g iPad, selling at places like newegg or amazon (if anyone has a clue)?
You know once amazon has the pad, it will cost less. If nothing else, with no sales tax.

Im pretty sure they are shared. They are shared with my iohone and ipod touch. And i know jobs says the ibooks will be shared.

All of your iphone apps can be loaded for free onto your iPad, but in the scaled-up format.

Beyond that, there are two possibilities:
1. Developers make their app "universal," meaning it has a unique interface for the iphone and one for the ipad, yet is still a single application (meaning that if you paid for the iphone version, you dont have to buy it again as it is the 'same' application)
2. Developers make a whole new, and separate, version of their app for the ipad specifically. They can then charge whatever they want for this (it seems most racing/fps games have gone this route).

yeh you can have a ton of devices shared - like kindle i think i got 12 of them on my account- everytime can leech the same purchase at the same time - gratis.
