I'm getting ready with a group of people to start work on a iphone/ipad game. We are torn on what kind of game to focus on. Some of us what to build a tactical RPG. Other's want to build a platformer with physics, and yet another wants to work on a puzzle game.

What kind of games do you want to see on the app store that are not there now?

I feel like there are a ton of Puzzle games for both iPhone and iPad.. I'd like to see more in-depth tactical RPG's (a la Fire Emblem, Final Fantasy Tactics, etc...)

I think the thing most missing from iPad games is depth. Most games just have a poor storyline (which is probably due to funding/price point as writing is expensive).

+1

I think a lot of people feel that the games don't distinguish between skill levels enough. I want a game that lasts me a while, not because its tedious, but because its challenging and exciting.

Every single good puzzle game has multiple clones already, so don't do that.

What does platformer with physics mean? There are a lot of platformers out there, and every game has physics involved.

Beyond just the physics for jumping and collisions, having objects you interact with (like knocking down walls, gravity switches, throwing objects, etc. Basically a focus on doing cool physics shit.

We hit a wall in story writing, but we are slowly progressing. Using corona and levelhelper to put it all together.

I would love an Adventures of Lolo style puzzle / adventure game... that is some fun gaming that never gets boring! I think an ipad is the perfect device to remake such a game
