iPad data plan question

I currently have an ipad1 with an unlimited AT&T 3G data plan

If I buy an ipad4 with an AT&T 4G data plan, will i still be grandfathered into my $29.99/month unlimited data plan? or because it's 4G they look at it as a new account?

New iPad has the option of transferring a data plan from an old iPad. I've never used it, but I saw it when setting up my iPad mini.

Yes, do not cancel your data plan on the old iPad. Buy the new one, set it up and you can transfer your existing unlimited account over to a new SIM with LTE.

Note that even though its unlimited, it's still capped at AT&T's usual amounts of 3GB for a HSPA device and 5GB for a LTE device.
