Maybe, but at least the phablet model could have 2GB.
Yeah that would make more sense given then extra screen size and that it's rendering more information as well so therefor probably using more memory.
I will take the RAM over a 5% battery savings anyday. Ok, I made up 5% but whatever one RAM chip uses is minor.
It probably adds up given that the RAM has to keep drawing power to refresh. However given that Apple already suspends background apps they could try to make some system that would turn one chip off after a period of inactivity.

Hey, they have to give us a reason to buy that 6S right?[/QUOTE]
Pretty much. Now that they've gone to big screens there isn't a whole hell of a lot they can add and given that they usually keep the same design for two iterations, hardware upgrades seem like the biggest upgrade reason.
The only other big move I can think is going quad-core, but that's not really necessary since they only have limited multitasking capabilities so additional cores don't add much unless the apps themselves are embarrassingly parallel, which seems unlikely.
Otherwise the only big feature that's left that comes to mind immediately is being water proof, but I can't see Apple making those design trade-offs.
