The problem with you naysayers is that you're looking at it from a technical viewpoint. Many of you have valid concerns from a technical point of view.
But what you seemingly don't realise is that far more morons than intelligent people exist on this planet, and many of them actually make very good money due to looking good, being able to sing, wearing clothes nicely, being able to convince other people something is a very good idea based on being a nice guy and looking / sounding convincing, etc.
And then many, many other, far more average morons take notice of what these guys are doing, because they are far more interested in what these people are doing than a bunch of geeks (and I mean real geeks, not a Crapbook Air-clutching fashionista who says "I'm a geek" because they've got a Twitter account).
And Apple is very good at addressing the wants of these types of people. Uniquely so in the tech sector I'd say, because their operating systems and their usage modes are much less bruising to the egos of 'the computer did it' people, and they design their hardware around the presumptions and expectations of people who know nothing about materials or engineering.
The problem with Microsoft-based stuff and e.g. the current iteration of desktop Linux tech is that they both still don't provide a soft landing for the egos of the people above, especially in the 360-degree ownership experience. And that's ultimately why Apple solutions are rapidly becoming more popular - people feel more empowered because the technology is being brought down to their level, not the other way around.
That's what it comes down to - it's the moron juggernaut. You might as well try and stop the tide with your hands. And Apple are surfing that Google-sparked Dunning-Kruger wave like a total mofo.
