iPad 3g or iPad wifi + Mifi

iPad with 3g or jump in bed with Verizon and get in a contract with a Mifi?

Already have 2 iPhones with grandfathered unlimited. iPad is intended to stay at home mostly, but you never know.

Have laptops and even a tablet PC that have previously stayed home on trips due to lack of data access.

Discuss.

I would think it would go in All Things Apple more than Gadgets, but since the question regards Verizon data service, it should be ATOT.
 
Depends.....

ATT service sucks

Mifi battery life sucks

So if you go with iPad 3G, you will be able to surf a long time if you have ATT service around.

If you do the wifi+mifi, you will have service almost everywhere but the mifi doesn't last more than ~2-3 hours. So you will need to find a spot to plug it in.
 
My question has nothing to do with Phones. Its to discuss the merits of data service. There is no voice involved, nor a phone device. That isn't the right forum, this one is.
