Pain point:

The iPad 2 isn't just the best tablet right now, it feels like it's the only tablet on the market.

Ouch. Obvious jab at Motorola there. Where is that software update for the XOOM?

Better get it here before Anand reviews the iPad 2, or otherwise...

More of the same which isn't a bad thing as it was already a good tablet, a speed bump and thinner so if you already like the iPad then this is for you. If you love Apple stuff then of course get this as you probably wouldn't get anything else anyways but if you've been waiting to see what the best tablet is, I'd still wait to buy one since other big name tablets are coming soon so I'd wait until those get released to buy one.

Sounds about right.

Those cameras are crap but I don't know why you would actually need anything better.

The one thing I have noticed about Apple products is that they know their markets and obviously do a TON of market research.

The cameras were a form factor trade off, they appear to have been lifted straight from the iPod Touch, the iPhone 4 cameras were too big.

Honestly, as long as there's a FFC for Facetime, people should be happy.

I never understood the whole camera thing anyway, but I guess they're nice to have. I use the cameras in my phone quite a bit, but it just seems sort of goofy to use the rear camera on a tablet.

It looks beautiful, and I'm sure it will sell well... but no updates to the notification system... you'd think Jobs would be yelling about that really annoying system they use now on iPhones and the iPad. I'm bummed that iMovie won't be released for the original iPad.

Still, my mother is off to buy an iPad 2 the day it comes out... and I know one of my co-workers who will pick one up too. My mother skipped the first iPad... I am going to skip the second one and wait for #3.

Uhhh, they threw in HD facetime on the Macbooks. Couldn't do it on an iPad?

Do I really want VGA camera considering you use these things at close range so I see a pixelated someone else on the other side? Nah.

As for the rear camera, it's crap. But how much does it cost to throw in a 5MP module? I mean 5MP cameraphones are already antiquated... Oh wait it's Apple. Even the old 3GS 3MP camera would be decent. Or 2MP.

Just reading a few analyst comments, they're suggesting the other tablet manufacturers are building too many and are going to kill the non Apple market with an oversupply, driving down all the prices of the competitors offerings...

Yup, this fall should be an awesome time to buy an Android tablet. For now, I got my NC to play with :)

Looks like most reviewers couldn't help benchmarking. The results are pretty impressive as well. The iPad 2 is a good chunk faster than the iPad 2 on numbers, and most reviews keep echoing performance.

Looks like it's another "3GS" effect. But since the original iPad was on par with the original iPhone 3GS more or less, I keep wondering how much faster this is.

Exactly. I'll just tinker with my $200 NC and then grab a multi-core 10" tablet when the bottom falls out on Black Friday.

Welp, looks like I'm returning to the iPad tomorrow. I sold my first gen last month for the Xoom but after playing with one, it's just not ready yet. I'll putz around with the iPad 2 until the next best thing comes out.

My main gripe with the iPad/iPad 2 is iOS but it's rumored that Apple will be talking about iOS 5 next month. I'm not expecting drastic changes but they almost have to fix the notification system.
