I recently got an iPad 2 and was able to set everything up and sync it to my PC in early April.

For the past few days, I have not been able to get iTunes to recognize the iPad at all!

I am not able to sync it to add music and other files to the iPad and it is really frustrating.

I've tried many of the suggested solutions like restarting the Apple Mobile Device service, updating the Apple USB Device Driver in Device Manager, restarting the iPad, restarting the PC etc. to no avail.

I also have an iPhone 4 and iPod that I sync with the same computer but I haven't had issues with either of those devices.

Can someone please help?

Yes, the Device Manager shows "Apple USB Device" or something like that.

I used iTunes to sync it when I first got it and set it up.

California must have Apple stores?

Bring it to a store and have them check it out.

Try restoring your iPad 2 (wipe it) on the device itself if there isn't stuff you won't easily miss.

I used iTunes to sync it when I first got it and set it up.

when i plug my ipad in windows 7 pops up with a dialog box to open the new volume and a bunch of other choices. you should see it in explorer as well
