streamtome has a nice free osx client too. plus if you know anything about coding you could figure out how to make a pc (vlc) direct stream from streamtome (non-transcoding).

airvideo has a pretty bad client for osx - but you can also get the source to hack it to run on a pc (java based) using vlcplayer, again not using quicktime http adaptive streaming protocol.

airvideo does not support audio. I like stream to me for listening to audiobooks - because it can auto play next video/audio file.

Stream to me is horribly inefficient. a dual core pentium 2.4 will struggle with two 480p; air video will have no problems at all. both use ff-mpeg for transcoding so i'm not sure why?? essentially they do the same thing but maybe optimization or threading is different.
