iPad 1st generation not responding to touch

The ipad stopped working over the weekend. Specifically, the slider to unlock does not respond to touch.

I tried hard reset; home and power for 10sec till booting down

I tried restore to factory settings.

Still nothing. Sucks, cause I just got new glass installed a month ago. It's mainly for the kids, no loss to me. But they are bummed.
