IP Tunneling over PPP

Has anyone ever set up tunneling over normal ppp connections? Example, I use a dialup connection at home, then ssh into work to do whatever I have to do, but recently I've become concerned with ssh's reliability, and wondered if there was a way to set up a tunnel from my house to my destination. Using BSD along with routing software, IPV6 installed on the kernel, etc. Any suggestions?
 
I use GRE tunnels over PPP "every day" at work to study for my routing tests.
I have also run PPTP over PPP without any problems.
I have not tried IPSec over PPP, if that is what you are looking for, but
I have not run into any instances where I have to treat a tunnel differently over PPP than Ethernet.
