IP Posting?

Hey!

I have a question about showing my ip and posting it on a webpage or something... it sounds confusing but let me explain. Right now I use a service called dns2go which lets me have a universal address that points to my dynamic ip at all times. Now this works most of the time and is great, but my father cannot access it at my school because their filter doesn't like the redirection or something. But if he has just the ip then he can access my computer.

What I want to know is if there is a program or anything that will update my ip and post it on a webpage so someone can access the page and see what my current ip is? I was thinking dns2go had this where I could check to see if the service was up and it would show my ip, but I didn't see anything that my dad could access....

Any ideas?

I understand what you are saying, but wouldn't putting your ip address on and letting people know that you are always online invite hackers to your computer?

Not saying anyone would, but this is the first thing I think of before posting my status and ip address.

This would be just for a personal page for my father to use to see what my ip is. It wouldn't be posted everywhere or something. Also, I have a firewall and a router and haven't had any problems yet. *crosses fingers*

Don't know what kind of connection you use .....anyway check out
adslautoconnect
it allows you to send your IP by mail or on a determined FTP every time it changes

Thanks for the link. I was thinking of making a small app that would run on my computer to do it - but this is better!

To Skoorb (and i gess he won't be the only one to ask that 😉 ) ....i don't know any other program which is as complete as this one .....
It is quite complete, with a lot of very nice features. anyway it shouldn't be too difficult to set up (i mean an IP is still an IP in french ....😀)

If somebody feels he / her has enough courage to try and set it up don't hesitate to PM me if you want some help.
