IP Helper CPU use . . .

Today I noticed that I was making absolutely no progress with Folding@Home. I looked around task manager and saw that iphlpsvc was consuming 25% CPU, a full logical core. Disabling this service drops my idle CPU use to 0% and lets me fold just fine, but I also get awful random mouse and keyboard lag.

I've scanned for viruses and nothing was detected. The problem persists after multiple restarts.

I'm using Windows 8 Preview on the desktop in my sig. Any ideas what's up?
