IP class ban on Romanian ISP

Hello,

For a few months now I've been getting the IP ban message while trying to browse the forums.

I'm a lurker, not a poster so a ban on even reading the forums really hurts.

I'm not sure which classes are banned, looking at the IP ranges owned by my ISP I think I get mine from 79.112.0.0/13 so if you could something about that, it would be great.

The ASN of my ISP (RCS&RDS Romania) is 8708.

Welcome to AnandTech Forums. Sadly, we have had a lot of spammers from Romania, lately, both those who have posted spam and those listed on the spam fighting sites we use as references. As a result, many Romanian IP addresses and address ranges have been banned for persistant reported abuse.

The address in the range, 79.112.*.* are not on our ban list. It would help if you can determine the address you are on when you encounter the block and report back to us. If you can, we can dig deeper and try to reduce the banned addresses and/or ranges to accomodate you.

I know this may be difficult if you can only access banned addresses at the time. Sorry for the inconvenience. I hope we can work this out to improve your ability to access to our forums. 🙂

I checked our IP ban list against those listed as current reported spam sources. The range, 79.116.136.* - 79.116.143.* was banned last year, but there are not a lot of current reports from this IP address range so I removed them from our IP ban list.

If you run into similar problems, again, you can PM me to let me know the address range, and I will check them out, as well, and unblock them if possible. 🙂
