IP Camera remote monitoring - Airlink101 AICN500W / ANA

I want to set up remote monitoring on 2 Airlink101 AICN500W wireless cameras that I recently purchased at Fry's. The provided software has provisions for dyndns.org and so does the Linksys WRT54GS router . I have looked at the Dyndns.com support forum but am still somewhat confused . I want to learn how this works vs alternatively purchasing Panasonic or D-Link camera which have more or less an automated setup . As my knowledge of networking is extremely limited, I really need a very basic tutorial / someone walk me through this .

All you should need to do is port forward to your cameras.

1. Set the cameras to use a static IP and a port like 83 or 84
2. Go into the router config and setup port forwarding to whatever the IP/port of the camera is

You should now be able to go into a browser and type in your IP address plus the port # and then connect to the camera.
 

I got it . I also added in those addresses in my Airlink101 SkyIPcam View remote viewing software installed on the the PC at the remote viewing location .


Now for another question - I am trying to mail the email feature work with Gmail . When I setup the motion dectection email configuration , I am using smpt.gmail.com as the email server and is does not work . Should I be seeting it up with another email server? BTW, my ISP is Earthlink.net . Any suggestions on how to get this working ? - Thanks

Many ISPs do not let an smtp server that it is Not thier own.

Try it first with your ISP address.
