Question IP camera recording to NAS

Hi,

I have a Synology DS218j NAS , and I'm thinking of getting a TP-Link Tapo C210 IP cam. According to Synology, the C200 is supported by Surveillance Station, but a quick check with TP-Link shows that the IP cam cannot record directly to the NAS, but only supports NAS via ONVIF and RTSP protocols. In this case, what does Surveillance Station support mean? What good is an IP cam/NAS compatibility if it can't record to the NAS?
