IP Camera and Server problems

I have a network in my office, on a cable modem with a static IP address that has wireless IP cameras on it. I have set them up... they work fine, but I need to see them outside of my network at my house or anywhere. I have dropped all the safeguards on my router and port forwarded the wireless cameras to various ports i.e. 1024 and 1026. i even dropped my firewall on my remote computer. I can ping the static address of the router, but can't even get into the router using port :8080 (which was activated). The cameras and the router are linksys and on XP pro machine.

I am not very keen on servers, so I have never tired anyting like this before, the router is static given by my ISP, I have all the IP's to go with it, 2 DNS, some 225.225.225.xxx number and one other IP to go with the IP address, they are all correct and the computer and webcams can send info to the net(the cams can email motion notifications) the computer surfs fine.

like i said with all security down, i can ping the router's IP, but thats all, no connection to either the cams or the router, i tried using IE and a cam viewer that linksys gave me. still no connection.

help me please

Do you have a link to the make & model of the cameras? If I can track down some manuals on the cameras I can help you. For the time being, I would turn back on all of the "safeguards" that you turned off. There's too many worms, trojans, and people up to no good to be running unprotected.

Without knowing more about the specific equipment it's hard for us to help you out. Each camera systems operates in different ways.
