As to your original question, however, it's really not that hard to get that same personal info through other means. I doubt they'll change their procedure any time soon. But, it might be a good idea to bring it up.

Yup, I remember freshman year there were three thugs walking door to door in my dorm trying to sell pot like magazine subscriptions or candy bars

you think that's bad? in '98 playboy's college women mag came out, and a girl from ISU was in it. I think the whole school showed up at her house. Yes, she was listed in the student directory :p
