Below is part of an email sent to me. THe email wants me to request IP's that are needed for our network. We run NAT so I need one IP for the router, one for the Firewall/NAT, and 4 others for servers. That being said, what should the example below look like for me?
2. With Network Address Translation and Firewalls, some customers use Private Networks on their internal segments and require a smaller amount of addresses be assigned from their ISP. This helps to alleviate the overwhelming need for IPv4 addresses, it can also create a huge administrative overhead with requests for /30s. However, NAT is a valid use reason. The initial table would look like this:
Network Max Hosts 3 Mos. Use Reason
------- --------- ------ ----------
/25 126 126 4 Servers 120 address NAT pool for 866 workstations.
